About Us

I Gusti Lanang Muliarta, graduated from Astronomy, Faculty of Mathematics at the Institut Teknologi Bandung, 1991. He has more than 25 years experiences in banking management started at Bank Bali on 1991, and reached top position as Senior Vice President at Permata Bank managed Business Development and Head of Strategy Development until 2015. His banking roles ended at Panin Bank on 2017 when he decided to serve his family foundation, Bali Kuna Santi and his family social enterprise named Bali Kuna Agri located in Selat Village, Karangasem, Bali.

Lanang has an extensive history as a speaker and facilitator, conducting training on diverse topics such as Team Building, Strategic Management, and Time Management for banking organizations. He also provided leadership training as part of The Bali Kuna initiative and conducted training for public and corporate audiences.

In addition to his professional roles, Lanang has been assigned by Governor of Bali to hold important position as Head of Management Authority of Supported Facilities for The Sacred Area of The Mother Temple of Besakih, Bali since March 2023.

Catrini, or familiarly called Ari, has a background in planning and architecture. She received her bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) in 1996, received her master’s degree from Department of Architecture of KU Leuven, Belgium in 1997, and doctoral degree from School of Architecture, Planning and Policy Development of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) in 2021. Her doctoral dissertation presented a conceptual modeling for Area-based Conservation for a non-intact cultural heritage site, the case study of the former Majapahit royal capital at Trowulan, East Java.

She is currently the Chairperson of The Indonesian Heritage Trust (BPPI) based in Jakarta and Chairperson of Southeast Asian Cultural Heritage Alliance (SEACHA) based in Bangkok. She actively contributes to Asia Heritage Network (AHN) based in Nara, Japan. She was acknowledged as The Climate Reality Leader 2020 after her accomplishment in The Climate Reality Leadership Project Global Training 2020 lead by Al Gore. She has a strong eagerness towards heritage work as shown by her activities for more than 20 years in developing heritage organisations such as “Badan Warisan Sumatera Barat / The West Sumatera Heritage Trust” in Padang, “Bali Kuna Santi Foundation and Jero Tumbuk Culture & Retreat” in Karangasem, Bali, and several other heritage cities in Indonesia, as well in regional Southeast Asia and worldwide. In addition to her work actively dedicated to culture heritage preservation, Dr. Catrini has remained committed to culture and nature conservation including the establishment of Mandala Majapahit Community-based Museum in Trowulan, Yogyakarta, and Makassar; as well the wildlife rehabilitation of Sumatran Tiger and sanctuary for Orangutan under her leadership as Executive Director of Yayasan ARSARI Djojohadikusumo on 2013-2023. Previously she ever worked at The World Bank for six years.

She received awards in recognition for her dedicated works: The Most Inspiring Woman (2007), Asia 21 Young Leader (2007), The Climate Reality Leader (2020), and appreciation from Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry as a Nusantara Culture and Nature Conservationist Figure (2021).
