Learning and Conserving Subak.
Through the Nature-Culture Conservation program, Bali Kuna Santi Foundation supports the preservation of Subak, Bali’s traditional irrigation and farming system that reflects the close relationship between people, nature, agriculture, and local culture.
The program encourages learning directly from the landscape and the farming community. Participants can gain a deeper understanding of traditional agricultural practices, water management, rice cultivation, and the values that have helped sustain Balinese rural life for generations.
By promoting awareness, education, and community participation, Bali Kuna Santi Foundation aims to help protect Subak not only as an agricultural system, but also as an important part of Bali’s living cultural heritage. Through conservation and continued learning, we hope future generations can continue to understand, practice, and value this tradition.
